Trisynapse is designed around a local vault. This page explains what stays local, what external providers may receive, and what website forms collect.

1. What lives locally
Imported source content, summaries, wiki Markdown, SQLite metadata, LanceDB indexes, chat sessions, canvas files, monitoring state, and instruction rules are stored in the vault folder you choose on your machine.
2. Provider keys and external calls
When you configure model, search, TTS, or monitoring providers, the app may send selected prompts, source excerpts, or monitoring queries to those providers. Provider secrets are handled through local app settings and system storage paths.
3. Website forms
If you submit feedback or contact us through the website, we receive the fields you submit, such as name, email, category, subject, and message. We use this to respond and improve the product.
4. What we do not do
- We do not host your research vault.
- We do not read your wiki, chats, sources, or canvas files.
- We do not train models on your research content.
- We do not sell research data.
5. Your controls
- Move, copy, back up, or delete your local vault like any folder.
- Remove provider keys from local settings when you no longer want provider-backed features.
- Email us to request deletion of website feedback or contact submissions associated with your email address.
